We had a great Christmas this year. We stayed home just the four of us for the actual holiday and it was nice. Shad was even more excited this year than last year, however he still didn't grasp "asking for things". When people asked what he wanted for Christmas he just stared confused. It was precious and I cherished everything about this stage for him as far as Christmas. He is already asking for things for his birthday, another door closes. Santa got some helped from grandparents and the USPS again this year. Shad actually snuck into a gift for the first time this year. Luckily it was a coat and not toys so he didn't go crazy and open any more. He was excited about the coat on Christmas, but it wasn't what he was expecting in his snooping I don't think.
Shad was very excited to put carrots out for the reindeer and was willing to put treats out for Santa too. He was much more concerned about the animals. We opened Christmas pajamas from Dan's parents and a few gifts in the same boxes. My in-laws are so great at finding cute fun things for the kids. Christmas morning the first thing he wanted to do was see if the reindeer ate their carrots. Then he opened his stocking. Mostly underwear, but hey, if it has superheroes on it that is still exciting! He also got a plastic tiger and orca whale and found out we got to leave the next day for Southern California and that we were going to SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo. We had watched Youtube videos before and he had really wanted to go see the animals so he actually understood what we were talking about. He then opened the rest of his gifts.
Grandma and Grandpa apparently wanted to give Dan something to do to because the two of them spent most of the morning putting together his presents. Shad didn't want to open anything else until his hot wheel tracks and amazing train were put together. Later that day Shad said he loved Santa, when we asked why he said it was because he loved his hot wheels and his train. . . so really he meant he loves Grammy and Gramps. It was really sweet. Bailey finally woke up and Shad was really excited to help her open her stocking and couple gifts too. It was kind of nice they did it separate and he could be interested and happy for her too.
After gifts we ate "Because I Love You" coffee cake for breakfast, and munched on it the rest of the day. It is one of my mom's recipes I don't make very often but it was perfect.
Shad spent so much time playing with his train etc we never even bothered changing out of pajamas. He just switched from one pair to a different pair after his bath. Haha, it was a great day.

| Checking if the reindeer ate their snacks. This was the first thing he did. |

| Trying out the Hot Wheels. . . no other presents were opened until this was set up! |
 |
| It took a while to convince him to open anything else. |

He was very excited about Bailey's baby snacks.
